About Kegel Alpha Trails

Kegel Alpha is a 4-mile trail system located in Franklin, on the city’s southwest side. The trail is mostly singletrack, with both easy and challenging loops that feature flowing trails, tight and twisty sections, and more climbing than available at Oak Hill or Hoyt. All trails are beginner to intermediate.

  • The nearest water or bathroom is located approximately .2 miles to the southwest at the Whitnall Golf Clubhouse, The Rock Sports Complex, or the many businesses around Luxe Golf
  • Wheel & Sprocket bike shop is nearby
  • Whitnall Beer Garden

Rules

  • Check trail status before riding
  • Multi-use trail. (Bikes are one-way only, hikers are two-way)
  • Open dawn until 10pm
  • Closed when muddy

Access

  • Parking is available at all trailheads
  • Luxe Golf trailhead: Farthest northwest corner of Luxe Golf lot. Head into the trail and the trailhead sign is on the left.
  • Whitnall Golf Course trailhead: Use the golf course parking lot, then cross 92nd street around the chained gate and through the grassy area. Keep going northeast until you see the trailhead sign.
  • Oak Leaf Trail trailhead: Enter via Root River Parkway via paved walking path. Go over the bridge and the trailhead sign is in the grass on the right side.

Kegel Alpha Trails are located in Mangan Woods. The closest parking is the NW corner lot of Luxe Golf at 7065 S Ballpark Dr, Franklin, WI 53132
